I was reading Curbed.com the other day, as I often due, and I learned about the New York Real Estate Brochure Collection. It’s a library that consists of over 9,200 advertising brochures, floor plans, price lists, and related materials that document residential and commercial real estate development in the five boroughs of New York and outlying vicinities from the 1920s to the 1970s.

Columbia University Libraries is in the process of digitizing the entire collection. Brooklyn and Manhattan are now complete with over 13,000 images for approximately 3,000 buildings.

For someone with a unique obsession with New York real estate, this is a cool resource. Take a look through the archived projects. Here’s an old brochure from the Empire State Building.
