ASotREG Launches Advertising

This past week I officially launched advertising on the blog, I guess this is another benchmark in my short blogging career. This is something I’m proud of, the mere fact that companies and schools recognize the blog as a place where they can build their brand means a lot. However, I didn’t start this blog with the intention of making money. Rather, my focus has always been to use it as a way to learn and educate, connect young real estate professionals, and create a brand to help build my career – and I can assure you this will remain the focus of the blog moving forward.

However, as the blog has developed I’ve begun to think about ways to monetize or at least break even on the cost of running the blog. Over the next few months I am going to begin to experiment with the advertising space. For the time being, I’ve added three 125×125 ads below the miltumedia box.

I wanted to assure all my readers that if the ads negatively affect the user experience on the site or detract from the ability to find information, I will remove them. The focus is to have a clean user-friendly site and this remains my top priority.

I will only advertise schools, products, services, and companies that I’ve used or dealt with personally. Again, this comes down to building trust with my community.

I want to reach out to all of you and get your opinions on the use of advertising space within the blog. Do the ads change your perception or affect your experience on the site?

Joe, congrats on the new ads. Its a testament to your website that you are able to pay for some of the costs of running this great website. Keep up the good work.
