In my time here at NYU Schack there have been a number of major changes, from the introduction of a new Dean to the creation of a new concentration. The program continues to evolve and meet demands of an ever-changing market.

On Monday there was another big launch, the website of NYU Schack’s new Center for the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) officially went live. As I announced a few weeks ago, the Center will be lead by professor Kontokosta, and is one of the truly great initiatives the program has undertaken. Take a look for yourself:

From a design and functionality standpoint I think the site turned out great. The crisp, clean layout and incorporation of the new NYU Schack logo conveys the school’s commitment to sustainability.

The site contains a plethora of information;  it’s a place where you can learn about the mission of the Center, the various research projects the Center is involved with, events the Center is hosting and opportunities to get involved.

I’m currently involved with the SBE, helping with the Student Technical Assistance Team (STAT) which is working with NYU to pre-certify future buildings for LEED prerequisites and credits as part of a campus standardization effort. As part of that process, we’re evaluating NYU’s existing and future building stock to identify areas of opportunity to achieve LEED points and developing the model documentation to submit for pre-certification through the U.S. Green Building online pills no prescription Council.

It’s an interesting project, which I’ll explain in more detail in a future post, but it will qualify me for the LEED Green Associate exam which I hope to take in the fall.

What do you think of the SBE’s website?
